Sunday Dinner Outreach Project
Trinity Church hosts a Sunday dinner for community residents as part of our food security and hunger relief initiative. Each Sunday from 12:30 until 2:30 pm our neighbors in need are invited to enjoy a sit-down dinner and Trinity hospitality in the Fortune Room. There is no cost for the meal.
In order to provide this program, we need the support of volunteers to serve in a number of capacities, including as cooks, food servers, greeters and clean-up crews. This is another great volunteer opportunity for families with children at least 9 years old.
There are two volunteer shifts:
- 10:30 am to 1 p.m. Setting up and serving
- 1 to 3:30 pm Serving and cleaning up
Interested in volunteering?
If you are interested in helping, sign up sheets are available in the Cloister Room. Write your name under the corresponding team you wish to serve with, and the team leader or a representative of the Sunday Dinner Ministry will contact you. Contact Diana Creasser, committee chairperson, at (317) 254-1669, or the Rev. Karen L. King at (317) 926-1346, ext. 403, for more information.
Volunteer in the Sunday Dinner library
Every Sunday in the Fortune Room, during the Sunday Dinner Ministry, kids can read and check out books and play games in a library developed by Scott Purucker for his Eagle Scout project. The library is in need of readers and "librarians" to man this station. Volunteers can read to the kids, check out books for them or even play games with them. Each Sunday, someone is needed from 12:30 pm when dinner starts until 2 pm or when there are no more kids there. If you are interested or have questions, call Scott at (317) 997-2880 or e-mail spurucker@parktudor.org.
