LaRae Rutenbar, Interim Rector
Trinity's Interim Search process has reached a joyous conclusion. The wardens and vestry are proud to announce the appointment of LaRae Jordan Rutenbar, who was voted unanimously by the vestry to be our Interim Rector.
LaRae will assume her new duties on Friday, August 15 and will preach her first sermon at Trinity Church on Sunday August 17.
LaRae has over 30 years of ordained experience in the Episcopal Church, and while her title at Trinity will be Interim Rector, LaRae's role is that of a Transition Specialist. She specializes in serving parishes ready for a renewed future with increased energy and a deepening of spiritual re-focus as they prepare for the next rector.
LaRae was ordained in the Episcopal Church in May of 1980, just four years after the Episcopal Church officially began ordaining women to the priesthood. Since that time she has served as a hospital chaplain, parish priest, interim rector, interim dean, transitional consultant and supply clergy for many of the Episcopal Dioceses around the nation. She has two adult children: Michael and Libby. LaRae’s husband, Mark, is also an ordained Episcopal Priest. She graduated from Rocky Mountain College, in Billings, MT with a B.S. in Psychology and has her M.Div from Virginia Theological Seminary.

The Rev'd Karen L. King, Senior Associate Rector for Outreach/Pastoral Care
Karen is responsible for the oversight of all Trinity’s outreach ministries to the community, which includes Sunday Dinner, a weekly ministry to neighborhood residents. She is also responsible for providing oversight of Trinity Outreach Center and pastoral care. Prior to coming to Trinity, Karen served as the executive director of a social services agency for more than 12 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Knoxville College, Knoxville, Tennessee, and a master’s degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Later she earned a master of divinity degree from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis. Karen has two sons, David and Samuel.

The Rev'd Bob Dekker, Interim Associate for Christian Education
Bob is responsible for the oversight of adult education and shares in pastoral visitation and the clergy's liturgical and preaching rotation. He was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Los Angeles in 1987 and served as curate of St. Gregory’s Church, Long Beach, California, and then as assistant rector of All Saints’ by-the-Sea in Santa Barbara, before being called as rector of St. Simon’s Episcopal Church, Arlington Heights, Illinois, Diocese of Chicago, where he served for twenty-plus years, retiring the end of 2011. Through these several ministries and callings he has enjoyed teaching with children, young people and adults.

Mr. Kevin DePrey, Parish Administrator
Kevin oversees all the business affairs of the parish—financial, facilities, support personnel, and office procedures. He has extensive experience as an administrator of religious institutions, having been director of the Fatima Retreat House of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis for 16 years and having served in two Catholic parishes prior to that. Kevin holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Purdue University and a master’s in pastoral ministry from Boston College. Kevin and his wife Emily Wren have been married for more than 30 years.

Dr. Michael Messina, Director of Music
Michael is responsible for the choir program involving both adults and children, the Music at Trinity series and is organist for St. Richard’s School. He has been director of music at Trinity since 1995 and also has 18 years experience serving Reform Jewish congregations. He holds the DMA and MMus degrees and the Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music and the BMus in Church Music (magna cum laude) from St. Olaf College. At Trinity, Michael has developed a mixed intergenerational choir that has made two pilgrimages to England, singing daily services at Winchester, Chichester, Bristol and Durham cathedrals. He is often seen at Trinity with his famous Shih-Tzu companion Norbu.

Nicholas Quardokus, Assistant Organist
Nicholas Quardokus is pursuing a bachelor of music degree in organ performance at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, studying with Janette Fishell. He is a recipient of the Barbara and David Jacobs Scholarship. Nicholas is a native of Bridgman, MI. He was the winner of the 2013 Region V competition for Young Organists sponsored by the American Guild of Organists. Nick has played for worship services and recitals across the country, most recently performing at the Guild's national convention in Boston.

Missy Roetter, Youth and Parish Life Coordinator
Missy coordinates the Journey to Adulthood youth program and has been certified by Journey to Adulthood’s Leader Resources program. For parish life, she directs all-parish events. Missy has a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Louisville and before working at Trinity, she worked 15 years in the retail industry. Along with her husband Fred, she has been a member of Trinity since 1988. The Roetters have two children, Lizzie and Nelson.

Tracey Lemon, Director of Communications
Tracey oversees all communications at Trinity. She has a masters degree from the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University and brings over 20 years of communications and management consulting experience. She and her spouse are two years new to Indianapolis and are always eager to hear about fun things to do in the city.

Dirk Edwards, Director of Facilities
Dirk oversees all operations and finances for the buildings and grounds for Trinity Church, St. Richards School, Trinity Outreach Center and Project Home Indy. He has been with Trinity since 1988 and has helped plan and manage seven additions and renovation projects here on campus. Before Trinity, Dirk served as facilities director for American Camping Association in Bradford Woods for five years and Sycamore Group for three years. Dirk and Wendi are in their 25th year of marriage, and live on site with their nine children.

Amy Joss, Parish Secretary
Amy's primary duties are welcoming and helping visitors and parishioners. She schedules all Trinity and St. Richard's events, coordinates the set-up for each event and the rotating schedule for nine security officers. She also keeps the database current. Amy has a bachelor's in Communication from the University of California at San Diego. She has many years of experience working with school and business data. She enjoys serving on Via de Cristo weekends and is an active member of Bethlehem Lutheran church.

Albie Marco, Financial Administrator
Albie is responsible for paying Trinity’s bills, payroll, record keeping, and the monitoring and reporting of all financial data. He moved from the Philippines to the U.S. in 2003. He and his wife Aileen have two sons, Aaron Matthew born in 2004 and Alfred Benjamin (Alben) born in 2006. His family loves traveling and camping.
