Benedictine Study Group
First and Third Sundays
9:10 am in the church library
2nd floor of the school building
The Benedictine Study Group gathers for prayer and study of Benedictine spirituality and how to claim the gifts of St. Benedict's path in our daily lives. They schedule occasional retreats for prayer and discernment. For information about how you can be a part of the group, contact Diantha Daniels at 925-9078 or Susan Sloss at (765) 883-7209. Join us - for every study group gathering or occasionally. You are always welcome.

Currently, the group is reading and reflecting upon Always We Begin Again by John McQuiston II, a contemporary interpretation of the Rule of St. Benedict. Our conversation focuses on the section on "Self-forgetfulness" which begins "Our ultimate goal is this: to forget ourselves."

  • The next meeting is Sunday, March 7.

Rector's Study
Facilitator: The Rev'd Tom Kryder-Reid
Tuesdays from 10 to 11 am in the Crist Room.
Father Tom leads a weekly Bible study throughout the year. The group selects different topics to explore, often using a study book as a guide.
This winter, the Benedictine Study Group is studying the life and writing of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, German pastor, theologian and activist for peace executed by Hitler in 1945. The text, Bonhoeffer's Life Together is for sale ($10) at the meeting.

  • March 9: We will watch the second half of a documenatry of Dietrich Bonhoeffer's life by Martin Doblmeier. Bonhoeffer, a German pastor, theologian and activist for peace, was executed by Hitler in 1945.
  • March 17. We begin reading Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Letter & Papers from Prison.
