General Announcements to the Parish

Indiana Day at Washington Cathedral
Yes, we have a few more hotel rooms in our block and a few more slots on our bus (as of May 2)! Go to our diocesan Web site at www.indydio.org for more information. The Indiana Day weekend festivities are the weekend of June 14 and 15.

If you're under 35, read this!
If you are late teens, early twenties, on a college campus, in your first job or finding yourself...Bishop Cate and the executive council NEED YOU!
The executive council serves as a "vestry" to the diocese. WE are readying ourselves and our Church for a new world and need people like you to help pave the way for the future.
If you are Web-savvy and a creative visionary, or if you think out of the proverbial box and like to take risks, or if you just plain want to serve your church, we want to hear from you. E-mail Karen Dorfman by May 28: kkdorfman@sbcglobal.net and put Executive Council in the subject line.

Open and Standing Invitation for Dinner Every Sunday
This is an open and standing invitation to the members and guests of Trinity Church: You are invited to attend dinner every Sunday at 12:30 pm in the Fortune Room. This is a great way to get a ready-made meal right after service and be a part of welcoming our guests from the community. We hope you will accept this invitation. We look forward to seeing you.

Bulletin Boards will Highlight Groups
Bulletin boards in the hallway outside the Fortune Room are getting updated. Our goal is to include pictures of various groups that are part of the life of Trinity. We plan to include information about the purpose of the group, meeting times and contact information for a group leader.

Please take a photo of group members and submit the picture and information about your group to Virginia Rogers. Digital photos work best, but feel free to admit a print. If you need a camera, or if your group is meeting at the church and you want someone to take your picture while you are here, contact communications director Virginia Rogers at (317) 926-1346, ext. 404 or vrogers@TrinityChurchIndy.org.

Need a Quick Meal?
Trinity Women have chili (meat, no beans) ready for you. Just add any extras you may like and dinner is served! Ask Tina, Wanda or Rita in Trinity's kitchen to get it for you out of the freezer. Cost is $4/pint or 3 for $11.

Lend a Hand by Giving a Seat
For a long time, Trinity's chancel (or choir area) has needed refurnishing. Choir pews, sawn into sub-sections years ago, remain too heavy to be moved easily and are now unstable to lean or sit on. And what's more, both Trinity's and St. Richard's programmatic life of special liturgies and concerts has grown, and the fixed-in-place pew configuration no longer serves. All of which is why we are replacing the choir pews and the first two rows in the front of the church with cathedral chairs in the tradition of many English churches.
Buy a chair -- buy several -- as a memorial or dedicated gift. The price of $375 each includes a dedicatory brass plaque. You can also assist with the cost of retiling the chancel area and front of the church, necessary because bare concrete under lies existing pews. Gifts in any amount will help. All checks should be written to Trinity Episcopal Church and marked "chancel." Thank you for your part in enhancing both the utility and beauty of our place of worship. Read more about this project and print a "Count me in!" participation/donation form. (See page 13 of The Outlook, linked above.)

Sunday School offering
On Sunday, Feb. 17, you may have noticed a child with an ark followed the ushers to the altar with the offering. In Sunday School we collect an offering every week. All the money collected goes towards the Heifer Project, outreach that provides animals to Third World families so that they can make a living. Each Sunday one child will carry the ark with the offering to be blessed at the altar. If you no longer have children, but would like to contribute, just find a child to place your contribution into the ark. Our goal is to raise $250 this year.
