The Music of Calvin Hampton:
A Music @ Trinity Event
Tuesday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Church
Michael Messina and John Cummins, organists
A concert presented for the Indianapolis Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. Come hear Calvin's rarely performed masterwork, The Alexander Variations, commissioned by Grace Cathedral, San Francisco, and written for two organs. We will also perform selected movements from the Suites, hymn-based works and some of Calvin's hymns. All are invited and admission is free

John Cummins is the organist and choirmaster at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Winston-Salem, NC, where he leads an intergenerational choir program. A native of Kentucky, he holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in organ from the University of Alabama and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in organ from the Eastman School of Music, where he was a student of David Craighead. An active recitalist and clinician, he presents programs this spring for American Guild of Organists chapters in Louisville, KY, and Raleigh, NC.

"From Advent to Trinity"
This recording made by Trinity Choir and Choristers features music that spans the seasons of the liturgical year and recalls the history of a congregation that has always treasured the splendor of sound offered to the glory of God. It also includes hymns and anthems composed for Tom Kryder-Reid, Nancy Ferriani and James Lemler.

Copies available for purchase for $15. Contact Director of Music Michael Messina at (317) 926-1346, ext. 410 or by e-mail, or visit the church office.

Accepting Easter memorial donations for music
Would you like to contribute toward the brass instrumentalists that make our Easter Day worship so memorable? Our goal this year is $2,500. As of March 3, we had raised $1,035. Please make your donation payable to Trinity Church, and let us know the person or occasion you'd like to commemmorate.

Choral anthems needed
Another way to remember a loved one or give thanks for a special occasion is by donating money for a choral anthem. Anthems would be stamped with the donor information, and that information would be printed in the bulletin when the anthem is sung during the service. A typical anthem costs approximately $100-$150 for 60 copies. Major works cost more. If you would like to make this kind of donation, please contact the Director of Music at mmessina@TrinityChurchIndy.org.
