Winter/Spring 2007 Music at Trinity
All concerts are held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3243 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, unless indicated otherwise. At the very bottom of this page, you'll find a listing of both choral Evensong services and holidays with festival music.
January 12, Friday at 7:30 p.m. Ensemble Voltaire: Bohemian RhapsodyIn the 17th-18th c., musicians were a mobile lot?always in search of greener pastures. Bohemia had an enormous wealth of talented composers to offer, but little in the way of employment. This program focuses on these composers, living in Dresden, Berlin, and other locales. Music of Zelenka, Tuma and Zach. Admission: $15 general; $10 students/seniors.
March 4, Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Meridian Song Project: Experiment MSP's Steven Stolen promises a unique and eclectic program of tunes of all types, Renaissance to Romantic, opera to Broadway, movie tunes to folk songs? strung together in the Indianapolis tenor's unmistakable style. Admission free.
April 29, Sunday at 4:00 p.m. Meridian Vocal Consort: Mr. Toad's Wild Ride This concert for the young and young-at-heart features John Rutter's delightful setting of Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows. Admission free.
May 18, Friday at 7:30 p.m. Ensemble Voltaire: Spring Winds During the early 18th c., flutists and oboists were considered the equals of keyboardists and string players. This program teams flutist Barbara Kallaur and oboist John Abberger in a concert of chamber music for winds. Music of Galuppi, Telemann, and Platti. Admission: $15; $10 students/seniors.
June 10, Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Meridian Song Project: They're Back w. S2 Some of MSP's favorite artists and pieces return to create a memorable night for long-time friends or first-time visitors. Don't miss this collection of people and tunes that have helped make Meridian Song Project one of Indianapolis's most successful chamber music series. Admission free.
