Parish Opportunities
Trinity Women serve funeral receptions as well as other church functions through out the year: Epiphany cakes (with a special one for three lucky children to win a crown as a token for the three kings who visited the Christ child), meals for emergency situations and vestry dinners.
Trinity Comforters is a group of knitters, quilters, crocheters and sewers who gather every Tuesday afternoon to make baby blankets and quilts for expectant mothers, lap quilts for patients at the local Veterans Administration hospital and knit caps for newborns.
St. Ursula’s Guild maintains the church library. Guild members meet monthly to cover, record, file and shelve new books that are chosen and purchased by the committee at least twice each year. Members also participate in church fairs selling books, baked goods and treasures. The income from these sales is contributed to the discretionary funds of the Trinity clergy and other charitable organizations and causes.
St. Monica’s Guild meets on the third Thursday of the month in members’ homes. Their purpose is fellowship and support of the church and the community. The guild has legendary status among parishioners for their annual spring rite of preparing and selling Scotch eggs and pasties the first Sunday in May.
St. Francis’ Guild is responsible for the beautiful Cloister Garden. They clip, prune, deadhead, weed and harvest on most Saturday mornings throughout the spring, summer and fall. Cuttings, clippings and actual plants are free for the taking at certain times throughout the growing season. There are many opportunities to help for anyone who is interested.
Office volunteers answer phones, run the copy machine, greet visitors and prepare mailings, among other office tasks. We want to offer an office environment during the week that graciously accepts and assists church members and visitors. Through volunteer services we are able to make sure that everyone is greeted warmly whether on the phone or in person.
Trinity/St. Richard’s Green Team is an enthusiastic group of people of all ages that formed to work for the preservation of the environment. They keep the church and school facilities on the green path through recycling initiatives and improved practices, and get parishioners and school parents active in green initiatives though out the community.
Parish Life If you like to plan parties or have ideas for parish events, this is the group for you. Be part of the “creative think tank” or sign up to help with events such as the Pet Blessing, Greening of the Church, Mardi Gras pancake supper or parish picnic. If you like to cook or get together with friends and families, this could be your ministry at Trinity!
