Sunday School: Details by Age
Nursery care: Room 101
Provided from 9 to 11:30 am for children three and under. Sunday School begins at 10.
3 year olds: Holy Innocents Chapel (adjacent to the Cloister Room)
Our youngest learners spend this year learning the patterns of worship and exploring stories that are at the heart of the biblical narrative?Jesus the Good Shepherd, the story of creation, the Exodus, the birth of Jesus, the parables and Jesus and his friends.
Pre-K and Kindergarten: Room B15
1st and 2nd grades: Room B16
These young children hear the stories of the people of Israel during the fall. During Advent, they hear of the birth of Jesus. Epiphany season brings the parables, and Lent and Easter focus on the life of Jesus.
3rd and 4th grades: Room B14
Throughout the year, these children hear the story of Jesus in more detail, with special focus on the relationships Jesus established with others. Stories include the disciples of Jesus, the healings and miracles of Jesus and the birth of the church?how followers of Jesus continued to tell his story after Easter. A cat in a hat was on the loose during summer Sunday school.
5th and 6th grades: Room 211 (upstairs, across from the St. Richard's library)
This group of older children will be discovering God within community. This is a curriculum designed especially for them that explores sacred space, religious symbols, worship and why we do the things we do in church.
